There’s nothing quite like ice skating to carry on the winter fun after the holidays are over. While it can be fun to visit your local indoor rink, there is something special about skating in the open air. Winthrop Ice Rink

208 White Ave, Winthrop, WA 98862

Winthrop Ice Rink offers some of the best ice and views of any rink in the state. This non-profit organization invites you to enjoy a few laps accompanied by the stunning Mt. Gardner in the background. The facility is top notch, with NHL-sized ice rink equipped with boards and glass, and a 6,000 square foot building with four changing rooms, 2 showers, bathrooms, rental skates, and second-story warming and viewing room with ping pong tables. Also be sure to check out their winter programs—activities such as skating, hockey, and figure skating. Adults tickets are $9, Youth/Seniors are $6, and skate rentals are $4.

Before heading to the Winthrop Ice Rink, it's super important to know that practice ice skating sessions are a great opportunity to work on your technique and level up your skills on the ice. Whether you're a pro skater or just getting started, these sessions are the perfect chance to improve tricks, enhance your technique, or just feel more confident.

 

Bellevue Downtown Rink

The Bellevue Downtown Rink is a great option during the Christmas season for those in the greater Seattle area. It boasts a 9,085 square foot rink, open rain or shine! There is also a concession stand for snacks and warm drinks. On weekdays, general admission is $12, and on weekends it’s $15. You can get $2 off if you bring your own skates! It is open from mid-November to early January.

Moses Lake Ice Rink

610 Yakima Avenue, Moses Lake, WA 98837

The municipal skate rink in Moses Lake is another great option, with a covered rink that is open in all weather. Adult tickets are $4, Youth (5-17) are $3. Skate rentals are $6.

Numerica Skate Ribbon

In Spokane Riverfront Park

Come skate on this 650’ long ice path, experiencing slight inclines and declines and enjoying the spectacular scenery. There are cozy fire pits for the spectators and hot chocolate to warm you once you are done on the ice. It is open, weather permitting, from mid-November to late February. Admission (one hour) is $6.95 for children and $9.95 for 13+ with skate rentals available for $6.95/visit.
